Aht Yomyai
My name is Aht Yomyai. I started my shooting about 20 years ago. My hometown, Phang-nga and many wonderful scenery of famous natural attractions along Andaman coast have inspired me to grab my camera and started capturing it into films and later on memory cards.
In last few years, I married a beautiful lady and have two lovely children. And it is such a magical moment to keep eyes on their progress with love and care. At has seen some smile, laugh or even cry through each face of my family members again and again. These impressive expressions give me a powerful inspiration to convey the best part of my memory to a beautiful (snap) shot. Then it becomes my characteristics.
With above inspiration from different experiences I gained; create me a great harmony in photo shooting between people’s feelings and beauty of nature especially for my specialized wedding photojournalism.
In 2008, I surrendered to the photography passion and convince myself to be a full-time photographer instead of a bakery shop owner in Phang-nga.
My transition wasn’t easy. To shift from what I had been doing so far to treat my family and myself into new profession with no clue how I am going to survive in this battle field while ton of photographers are still doing such a great job there.
I realize only an asset I have, passion. The passion that carries me toward every challenge I must overcome. The test did not stay so long as numbers of customers have grown up from day by day. I believe that it is a gift from words of mouth, from the customers who love my creature and impress with my dedication towards my career.
To be selected as an official photographer for ASEAN Summit in July 2009, it is an assignment which I am most proud of. It was just a minute but real pressure. It can’t be failed when standing and facing Hillary Clinton, the secretary of state and the followers. This task was the most challenged part in my life as a photographer.
I truly understand, choosing a person who will capture and trace your important moment in life is very critical as it will last long with you.
