I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside the incredibly talented Aidan Dockery professional wedding photographer in Thailand, as an second photographer for wedding at The Lamai Resort & Spa in Koh Samui. I was thrilled to be a part of Chalotte & Weijern’s special day, especially since I had a few free days to travel from Phuket.
Chalotte & Weijern, the lovely and playful couple from Hong Kong, were an absolute delight to work with. We first met at the lobby hotel the day before wedding to go over all the wedding details.
wedding day
On the big day, Aidan and I arrived at the bride’s room around 9:00 am. We kicked things off with Charlotte’s makeup and hair done in a lovely Chinese style for the morning. Meanwhile, Weijern and his senior entourage started their procession as they arrived at the bride’s room.
During this time, Weijern and his friends had to win some games from the bridesmaids before he could escort the bride out of the room for the Chinese Tea Ceremony. It was such a happy and funny activity, filled with smiles and laughter.
The western ceremony took place on the resort’s Ocean Pier, floating at the front beach of The Lamai Samui Hotel, with around 120 guests from all over. The warmest atmosphere made it all the more special. We were so lucky with the weather – no rain, even though it was cloudy during the ceremony. The whole event ended with lots of laughter and fun as several surprising gifts were offered to the bridal party by friends and family. And to top it all off, there was an amazing ornamental fire dance show from Koh Samui.
